Listening to the Voice Within

Bianca Stan, Founder and Digital Strategist of MabIt, Brasov, Romania

From the heart of Romania, meet Bianca Stan—a devoted mother of two and a loving wife—who is excited to share her inspiring journey. Discover how her maternity leave became the catalyst for the thriving business she runs today. Dive into her story and find your dose of inspiration in the interview below!

1. First, tell us a bit about yourself and how MabIT got started.

2. How did you discover that marketing is your passion and the job that fulfills you?

I’ve been involved with marketing since my university days. Even though I was studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, I was active in various youth organizations, particularly in marketing roles, and I even volunteered in the marketing department of the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2013. My lifelong passion for writing naturally complemented this. Fulfillment comes with results and a deeper understanding of human psychology—being able to craft and deliver MabIT clients’ messages to the right audience in the most effective way.

3. What is your secret to maintaining balance in life? As a mother of two, a wife, and a business owner, how do you manage it all?

I don’t have balance , and I’ve stopped aspiring to it. I think it’s a bit of a cliché. Life is about choices, and I’ve come to accept that there are periods when work—projects, clients, the team, MabIT—takes priority, and times when family and kids come first. Over time, I’ve learned to set boundaries, though it’s an ongoing process. It took a lot of transformational programs and therapy hours to shed the guilt and start enjoying life without the pressure of excelling in every role. I’m fully committed to each role I have, but I take them on one at a time. I no longer try to be the perfect mom, an inspirational entrepreneur, a wonderful wife, and keep a spotless house all at once. I ask for help aswell. My partner, who is also my husband and business partner, and our parents are a big help. I know what’s important to me, and I make my choices accordingly. I don’t spend time where I “should” but where it truly matters (primarily for me, not for external validation)…but again, it’s a continuous process.

4. Do you rely on your instincts when making major business decisions?

It depends on what you mean by instincts. Yes, I listen to my inner self and connect with how a decision feels in my body, but I’m also an analytical and technical person. I think strategically, and I don’t make major decisions alone. Significant decisions are first discussed with my partner (who is also my husband) and the mentors or people I trust to guide me well. But those conversations happen after I’ve connected with my inner self. If that’s what you mean by instincts, then yes, I rely on them too. The more I’ve worked on myself—understanding my blocks and limitations—the more these “instincts” have supported me. I should also mention that everyone has a different risk tolerance, and making business decisions as a team has allowed us to progress faster because we’ve had more courage.

5. What motivates you to keep going when everything feels like it’s falling apart?

There have been many moments when I wanted to give up , and I’m sure there will be more. I’m lucky to have the right people around me who don’t let me quit. What motivates me the most is the desire for freedom and having an impact. I want the freedom to choose when, how, and on what I work. I want to allocate my time as I wish and as I feel. I also think beyond just myself and my family. I think about what I’ll leave behind, and I’m not talking about money. Maybe I’m too much of a visionary, but I believe my mission on this earth is a big one 😊.
